TOKYO -Sony has jumped into the top three in the global smartphone sales in comparison with the same period in last year. The rating was obtained based on the IDC research.
Offered from TechRadar, Wednesday (27/11/2012), according to IDC, the original company that Japan won the third place at three quarter 2012. That put it just behind Samsung and Apple.
With this, Sony Online has gone beyond RIM, Nokia and HTC. Even though Sony was able to reach the position of the three, its increase globally is inseparable from the struggle.
Sony's market share actually crept down seen from ttahun to year. From 5 per cent in 2011 has dropped to 4.8 percent in 2012. However Nokia, HTC and RIM down further than that.
Nokia fell dramatically from 13.6 percent in 2011 to just 3.4 percent in 2012. HTC fell from 10.3 percent to 4.6 percent. While RIM fell from 9.6 percent to 4.2 percent. (yhw)
